1. Eligibility

Registration:
You may register using a valid email, phone number, and/or Apple ID.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Credentials:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
Unauthorized Use:

We may take actions we deem reasonably necessary to protect the Service and users, including suspending access.
3. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellations
Plans:
Circles offers free and paid subscription plans (“Subscriptions”).
Details are presented in-app and may change from time to time.
Billing:
All purchases, billing, renewals, and refunds are processed by Apple’s In-App Purchase system and managed via RevenueCat.
Apple’s terms govern transactions and refunds.
You can manage or cancel your Subscription in your Apple ID settings.
Auto-Renewal:
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Your account may be charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
By starting a Subscription, you acknowledge that your Subscription will continue until canceled, and that your Apple ID account will be charged on a recurring basis unless you turn off auto-renew in your Account Settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Trials:
If offered, free trials convert to paid Subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.
Price Changes:
We may change prices for Subscriptions.
If required by Apple’s policies, you will receive notice and may be given the option to consent or cancel before changes take effect.
Taxes/Fees:
Prices may be inclusive or exclusive of taxes/fees depending on your region, as processed by Apple.
Refunds: Refund requests for Subscriptions or in-app purchases must be handled directly through Apple Support. Circles cannot process or issue refunds for transactions made via the App Store.
4. User Content and Licenses
Ownership:
You retain ownership of any text, images, and other content you submit (“User Content”).
License to Circles:
You grant Circles a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), display, and distribute your User Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service (including backups, safety/moderation, and technical delivery).
Responsibility:
You are responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to post it and to grant the above license.
Feedback:
If you submit ideas or suggestions, you grant Circles a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.
5. Community Guidelines and Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to, and will not help others to:
Post content that is illegal; infringes intellectual property or privacy rights; includes hate speech, explicit material, threats, or harassment; promotes self-harm or violence; or is deceptive, misleading, spam, or scams.
Attempt to hack, disrupt, interfere with, or reverse-engineer the Service; probe or scan systems for vulnerabilities; bypass security or rate limits.
Collect or harvest data from other users without consent or use the Service to build competing products.
Impersonate others, misrepresent your identity, or use bots or automation to access the Service.
Content Moderation:
Circles uses automated tools and human review to moderate user content for safety and compliance with these Terms. We may remove or restrict content that violates our policies, law, or community guidelines. Users can report offensive or inappropriate content within the app or by emailing jonah@circlestheapp.com.
Repeat or severe violations may lead to account suspension or termination.
No Professional Advice: Content shared within Circles is for personal and social purposes only and should not be considered professional, medical, or psychological advice.
User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the information and content you share on Circles. Do not share personal data, addresses, or other private details that could compromise your safety or the safety of others.
Moderation:
We may remove or restrict content and/or accounts that violate these Terms or our guidelines.
We may (but have no obligation to) monitor and moderate content for safety and compliance.
6. Safety, Enforcement, and Repeat Infringers
We may disable or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or intellectual property rights (including repeat copyright infringement).

7. Intellectual Property of Circles
The Service and its content (excluding User Content), including design, software, logos, and trademarks, are owned by Circles App LLC.
These are protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

The Service integrates third-party services (e.g., Firebase/Firestore, Apple, RevenueCat) to provide functionality.
Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and privacy policies.
We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services.

THIS INCLUDES WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee continuous, error-free, or secure operation of the Service or that content will always be available or accurate.
16. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CIRCLES APP LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) TO CIRCLES FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

You represent that you are not located in or under the control of any country or territory subject to U.S. sanctions, and that you are not on any U.S. government restricted list.

Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force Majeure: We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform due to causes beyond our reasonable control.
